While Xbox Game Pass has been a tremendous hit with the Xbox community, one of the most frequently requested additions is that of a family plan. Consumers want a way to share Game Pass with multiple players without needing several individual accounts. That hasn’t been an option to date, though it seems Xbox is working on a solution.
According to report from our friend Jez Corden over at Windows Central, Xbox is preparing to introduce an Xbox Game Pass family plan. While not details are fully solidified, the details are as follows according to WC:
From our information, paying on a higher tier for an Xbox Game Pass Family Plan will net access for five players for games across the entire library, and will be far cheaper than paying for five separate XGP accounts as is necessary today. Utilizing Microsoft’s Family Account system already in use for Office 365, players within the same country will be able to play together using a single XGP subscription managed by a central account holder, in much the same way as Netflix.
No further details where shared at this time and questions certainly remain. Hopefully Xbox is planning to unveil the details soon (perhaps during their summer showcase). More details as they come.
