Call of Duty Celebrates Major Milestones Including 100 Million Warzone Players

It goes without saying that Call of Duty is one of the largest IPs in gaming. And if there was any doubt, the new milestones for the franchise will put those to rest.

Announced via the main Call of Duty site today, the big milestone is that Warzone has now surpassed 100 million players globally. The Call of Duty team shared this inforgraphic with some incredible statistics.

In addition to the success of Warzone, Call of Duty has now surpassed 400 million total lifetime unit sales.

While celebrating the number of players who have dropped into Warzone, we also crossed another major milestone across the franchise: over 400 Million Call of Duty premium games have been sold since the very first Call of Duty® launched back in October 2003, to the franchise’s most recent release of Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War in November 2020.

Thank you for creating countless memories, shared experiences with friends and for being a part of the greatest community in the world.

Our Take

Despite many predicting years ago that the annual Call of Duty model would eventually fail, the series continues to break records. Warzone’s growth has been tremendous and it shows no signs of slowing down. Between Warzone, Apex Legends, Fortnite and the impending Halo Infinite and Battlefield 6, there are certainly no shortage of great games for shooter fans to play!
