We’ve talked endlessly about Cyberpunk 2077 so we won’t rehash all of the prior aspects that have blown us away. Rather, today we’re looking at how the team matched facial animations across all ten dubbed languages that the game supports; for every character in the game.
It’s obviously a monumental task. So to achieve it, CDPR enlisted technology from Jali Inc.; a company out of Canada that specializes in new technology for matching facial animations to speech. It’s incredibly impressive so rather than us attempting to describe it, we recommend watching this short video led by members of the team to demonstrate it.
Our Take
We love gaining insight into how the games we love are made, and this is a perfect example of allowing players to understand just how much work goes into aspects of these games. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to raise the bar for open-world games and we are now less than a month from launch. Get hyped!
