Far Cry 6 Leaks : Release Date, Details, and a Link to Far Cry 3

As seems to be standard practice nowadays, another major game’s details have leaked. This time the culprit is PSN as Far Cry 6 was leaked on their Hong Kong store (though it has since been removed).

According to the listing, Far Cry 6 will release on February 18th and will also come with a free upgrade to the PS5 version should you purchase it on PS4 initially. The synopsis of the game is described as:

Far Cry 6 will take place in Yara, which is described as a tropical paradise in need of restoration to its former glory. Its ruthless dictator, Anton Castillo, and his son Diego are on a path to achieving that through any means necessary, igniting a revolution in the region.

As previously reported, Giancarlo Esposito will play the role of Anton Castillo while keen eye gamers have noticed something particularly interesting from the cover photo in that the child looks to be Vaas; the ruthless villain from Far Cry 3.

Our Take

We’re excited for Far Cry 6 but as we’ve said before, we hope Ubisoft takes some risks and changes up the formula a little from prior games which were beginning to feel stale. The inclusion of a young Vaas and the talent of Esposito are particularly interesting so we’ll be paying close attention come Sunday for Ubisoft’s Forward Event.
