While Seasoned Gaming hasn’t even been around for a decade, our staff has been gaming for nearly four of them. In that time, we’ve played thousands of games and have wide ranging opinions on those experiences. Yet our discussion on the Game of the Decade was over nearly as quickly as it began.
The recognition of The Witcher 3 had already been near universal at launch so while it was seemingly impossible, the expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine elevated the quality of the title to even greater heights. And thus, The Witcher 3 “Complete Edition” firmly established itself in video game history as an all-time classic.
Since naming The Witcher 3 our Game of the Year for 2015, it has gone on to sell well over 20 million copies, broken nearly all records for critical reception, and spawned a Netflix series. So while other titles deserve mention in this conversation, we had little trouble selecting The Witcher 3 as our singular winner.
Congratulations and thank you to CD Projekt Red for developing one of the greatest video games of all-time. Now we anxiously await Cyberpunk 2077…
