Final Fantasy VII fans have been waiting at their next glimpse at the follow-up to Final Fantasy VII Remake and Summer Game Fest’s end cap didn’t let them down. The team at Square-Enix showed off a healthy portion of Rebirth with a new trailer to close the show.
The trailer showed off Cloud and the crew exploring Midgar with a setup for the future of the story. With Rebirth representing the middle-entry in a planned trilogy, it’s going to be interesting to see what new direction they take.
Rebirth was then announced as a 2024 title (from the originally planned 2023). It will release for the PS5 on two-discs in “early 2024.”
