Report : Xbox Increasing First-Party Game Prices to $70

In a report from IGN, Xbox will be increasing its first-party title price to $70 beginning in 2023. The change will take affect with new releases such as Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and Redfall.

The move aligns Xbox with many other major players in the industry who have already adjusted to $70 US for first-party titles including PlayStation, 2K, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and more. An Xbox spokesperson offered the following statement:

“This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles,” a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. “As with all games developed by our teams at Xbox, they will also be available with Game Pass the same day they launch.”

We’ll have more on this as Xbox shares more commentary and stay tuned to this week’s Bitcast for further conversation on the topic!
