Cyberpunk 2077 : Night City Wire Updates, Expansion, and Edgerunners

CD Projekt Red has wrapped up their latest episode of Night City Wire and it was filled with new information for Cyberpunk 2077 and the new Netflix anime, Edgerunners. Let’s dive in!

First things first – update 1.6 arrives today for Cyberpunk 2077 which is being titled the Edgerunners update. Not only does it include some crossover items and easter eggs related to the upcoming anime Edgerunners, it includes a number of other additions. Notable items include:

• 3 new gigs
• 6 new firearms
• 5 new melee weapons
• Cross-progression saving
• Arcade game “Roach Race”
• Transmorging for your character to customize your look how you prefer
• Additional REDmod tools

Perhaps the largest information shared during the presentation today is that the above will be the final update for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. There will be no new support beyond update 1.6. Going forward all updates will be for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles only. And on that front, some very exciting information was shared.

During the presentation it was noted that an additional “large” update was coming to Cyberpunk 2077 in the future that would include new abilities and a complete overhaul of the policing/vehicle combat systems. If that wasn’t exciting enough, CD Projekt Red then shared a brief teaser for “Phantom Liberty” which is the full expansion coming in 2023. Check it out below!
