Full Details on PlayStation Plus Classics and Ubisoft+ Additions

It’s been a big morning for PlayStation as they have detailed more of the benefits and classic games coming to their new PlayStation Plus tiers. Below we’ll detail it all including Ubisoft+, the PlayStation Classics, and additional PS5 benefits. For reference, launch is just a week away, starting with Asia on May 24, followed by Japan on June 2, North and South America on June 13, and finally Europe, Australia, and New Zealand on June 23.

The largest surprise addition is that Ubisoft+ is joining PlayStation. According to Ubisoft, there will be a couple of different offerings including Ubisoft+ “Proper” along with new offering titled Ubisoft+ Classics.

Ubisoft+ will come to PlayStation in the future, bringing access to more than 100 titles, additional content packs, and rewards to the platform. The subscription service is currently available on PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna, offering players day-one releases, classic games, and premium editions, and ultimately will be available on PlayStation and Xbox.

Ubisoft also revealed that beginning May 24, it will launch a new Ubisoft+ subscription for PlayStation Plus called Ubisoft+ Classics. Ubisoft+ Classics on PlayStation is a curated selection of popular games, including top-selling Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, The Division, and For Honor, as well as beloved classic games like Child of Light, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Watch Dogs, Werewolves Within, and more. The Ubisoft+ Classics catalogue for PlayStation Plus will launch with 27 titles and will grow to 50 by the end of 2022

Ubisoft+ Classics will be bundled with the PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium subscription tiers on May 24 in Asia (June 2 in Japan), June 13 in North and South America, and June 23 in Europe. The full list of Ubisoft+ Classics for launch can be found below:

Our Take

This is generally very good news for PlayStation players who subscribe to PS Plus. It’s excellent to see PlayStation expanding their offering and providing players more options to interact with some of their favorite games. The addition of Ubisoft+ is a also nice to see and we hope that these lists continue to be expanded over time. The big question is, how many people will feel these benefits are worth the price. Time will tell.
