Summer Game Fest Conference : Full Recap and Summary

Earlier this afternoon Geoff Keighley formally kicked off Summer Game Fest with a 90 minute long conference that held a bunch of surprises and a few major announcements. As we always do, below we’ve summarized the entire show for you with all of the notable information and trailers. Enjoy!


The show began with a bomb in Gearbox’s Borderlands crossover Wonderlands. As rumored Wonderlands will be an off-shoot based on the concepts from the beloved Borderlands 2 expansion Assault on Dragon Keep. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands launches in early 2022.

The classic SNK series Metal Slug returns in a new format. Metal Slug Tactics launches later this year.

Hideo Kojima then made an appearance to discuss some concepts of his next game (very vague) and later announced Death Stranding Director’s Cut for the PS5.

Jeff Goldblum then made a cameo appearance to promote Jurassic World Evolution 2.

Sable – September 23rd

Lost Ark, the long awaited MMO from Smilegate and Amazon Games, finally showed gameplay and presented a release date of late 2021.

Call of Duty Season 4 kicks off on June 17th. It will include new weapons, maps, and more for Cold War and Warzone. In addition, the “World of Warzone” esports series runs from June 22nd to 23rd!

Among Us roadmap

Shuhei Yoshida joined the conference to speak on PlayStation Indies culminating with the announcement of Salt and Sacrifice for the PS4 and PS5 in 2022.

 

Solar Ash from Annapurna Interactive also arrives later this year!

Smite then teased a crossover with Stranger Things. The new pass begins on July 13th.

A new MMO launches later this year titled New World.

Rocket League announced a Fast and Furious crossover beginning on June 17th.

Vampire the Masquerade : Blood Hunt launches its Alpha on July 22nd (full launch later in 2021).

The Dark Pictures Anthology House of Ashes showed off a new trailer. The game launches on October 22nd.

The latest trailer for Tales of Arise debuted and announced a launch date of September 10th.

Overwatch 2’s Game Director, Aaron Keller, joined Geoff to show off a few character updates.

Capcom then showed off Monster Hunter Stories 2 which launches on the Switch on July 9th.

Endless Dungeon, a new title from Sega, was then shown as coming to Xbox and PC.

Giancarlo Esposito then joined to discuss Far Cry 6 and his inspiration for agreeing to play the role.

Back 4 Blood received a new trailer. The title launches on October 12th and you can join the beta in August if you pre-order.

Evil Dead The Game is coming in late 2021. Today we saw new gameplay and a few easter eggs fans.

Finally, Elden Ring lives. The full trailer for the highly-anticipated next entry from From Software is real and it launches on January 21, 2022.
