Originally scheduled for release on February 18th, 2021, Ubisoft announced today that Far Cry 6 would be delayed to later in 2021. No specific date was provided other than “fiscal 2021 to 2022” which means anytime after April 1, 2021.
Our Take
Honestly this doesn’t surprise us given the nature of game development right now as we’ve said many times. Additionally, with Ubisoft releasing so many major titles in a short stretch, it just makes financial sense for the company to move one of its biggest IPs to the next fiscal year. Naturally our hope is that the development team takes their time and delivers the best possible game.
