Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Release Date Moved Up to Launch with Xbox Series Consoles

UPDATE:  Ubisoft has since confirmed that Valhalla will run at “Full 4K / 60fps” on the Xbox Series X.

As more and more news comes in today on the Xbox Series consoles and the games that will be launching alongside it, one of the biggest third-party deals is with Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Previously November 17th, Ubisoft has moved the launch date up a week to November 10th. Thus one of the biggest titles of the year will launch day and date with the new Xbox consoles. Additionally, players can upgrade from the Xbox One to Xbox Series S/X at no additional cost thanks to Smart Delivery. But likely most exciting, is that we’re hearing that Valhalla will run at 4K / 60fps on the Xbox Series X. While Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed this officially just yet, we’re hoping to hear the news soon (likely during their Forward event tomorrow).

Our Take

As we’ve speculated for some time, the launch lineups for both the Xbox Series and PS5 look rather sparse from a first-party perspective. Thus we expected a lot of third-party deals to fill the gaps. This is great news and we’re sure that Valhalla will be a fantastic showcase for the shiny new Xbox Series X consoles later this year.
