While all eyes are on the upcoming Xbox Showcase this Thursday, as well they should be, the Xbox team also quietly began their Summer Game Fest demo event today.
Over 70 game demos from a wealth of indie creators are now available on the Xbox Marketplace. The event runs through the end of the week (July 27th).
With ID@Xbox’s Summer Game Fest Demo Event, we would like to bring to you – in the comfort of your own home – 70+ fantastic game demos of unreleased Xbox games that will be available for you to download and play between July 21-27. Games will start to be playable today, and we encourage you to continue to check your Xbox Dashboard as more will continue to become available throughout the week! Just remember that most of these demos are an early look at gameplay and may not represent the full game release, including the availability in each country as developers continue to update and refine their title ahead of launch.

Our Take
While not major AAA titles, it’s great that indie titles get some of the spotlight and what better way to enjoy a week of gaming than trying a bunch of new titles for free? We just hope both Xbox and PlayStation have events like this more often.
