It’s hard to believe it’s been over 15 years since NFL2K5 and Madden 2005 were in a fierce battle for NFL fans attention. We’re certainly not going to bring that debate back to the limelight. However, we certainly won’t be having it again any time soon either.
According to NFL reporter Albert Breer, Electronic Arts has renewed its exclusivity contract with the NFL through 2025 with an option for 2026 as well dependent upon revenue targets.
Per source, NFL owners just voted to approve an extension of their deal with Electronic Arts. This one will run through the 2025 season (and through 2026 if revenue markers are hit).
So when it comes to that kind of game, it'll be Madden for a while.

Our Take
Not much to say on this one other than for fans hoping for a Madden competitor in the next-generation, it seems that dream is once again lost.
