Since it’s debut last week, Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 has made a lot of waves through the industry. As we’ve seen, much of this was due to the demo running on the PlayStation 5 though it should be clear the engine will be used to power games on all major platforms. One of which it seems, will be the upcoming “AAA RPG” from inXile Entertainment.
During a conversation on social media today regarding Wasteland 3, Studio Head Brian Fargo said the team is fully focused on delivering the best game possible on August 28th. But that looking ahead, confirmed that their next major project will run on Unreal Engine 5.
We've had quite a few questions about our next gen RPG and can confirm it will use Unreal Engine 5. https://t.co/65jq0ckz5f

Our Take
This really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise but hopefully it begins to put some of the mis-information to rest. As we discussed on this week’s Bitcast, Unreal Engine 5 will run hundreds of games on all major platforms just as past Unreal Engines have, will produce some of the best games in the industry. We’re excited by the improvements it brings!
Glad to hear this engine will be utilized on other platforms. It’s exciting and awesome what the future of gaming is going to bring!
