The Mafia Trilogy has returned and 2K Games has made several updates to the games though the details can be a little confusing. Let’s sort it out.
First, the original Mafia is being completely remade from the ground-up and will release on August 28th for $39.99.
Next, Mafia 2 and 3 are available now in their “Definitive Edition” guise. Mafia 2 is updated with 4K visuals while Mafia 3 is the same version currently available but with all released DLC. They can each be purchased for $29.99.
Lastly, if you’re a big Mafia fan, you can buy the full trilogy at a discount which gives you access to Mafia 2 and 3 today, and Mafia on August 28th. This can be purchased for $59.99.
Our Take
This is a rather interesting way to re-release the Mafia titles. We’re extremely excited about the full remake of Mafia but we had hoped for the same treatment of Mafia 2 (though we understand the work that would take). Either way it’s good to see these titles in the spotlight again. Will you be re-visiting them?
