Today Ubisoft offered a donation of €500,000 in support of reconstruction and restoration of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. In addition, they are giving everyone a chance to play Assassin’s Creed Unity for free on PC. You can download it now for Uplay PC here: Unity on PC
It’s important to remember that Ubisoft does have a Paris studio and worked very hard in recreating the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Unity with amazing detail ; down to the art and bricks that hang there today.

Our take:
This is amazing to see from a developer. Their effort in trying to raise awareness and support for the Paris community, and such an important historical site, is noteworthy. Meanwhile, while Unity was buggy at launch, Ubisoft has updated the game extensively and the game should run really well today.
