The next evolution of Labo for the Nintendo Switch is coming, and this time it’s focused on creating virtual reality. Toy-Con 04 is labeled the “VR Kit” and is described by Nintendo as follows:
Stop an alien invasion, paint like an elephant, create your own VR games, and more! Nintendo Labo: VR Kit combines the innovative physical and digital gameplay of Nintendo Labo with basic VR technology to create a simple and shareable virtual reality experience for kids and families.
The Labo VR Kit arrives on April 12th in two forms ; a starter kit for $39.99 and a larger set with different experiences for $79.99.
Our Take
Labo hasn’t been the most popular add-on for the Switch which itself has sold extremely well. The first sets of Labo could very quickly be found at a discount and we haven’t heard much about it since. We’ll see if the introduction of some low-grade VR will make a bigger splash and be more interesting to the Switch audience. Regardless, we like the innovation that Nintendo is pushing.
