Nintendo Investor’s Report Shows Strong Switch Hardware and Software Sales

As expected, we’ve now seen the investor’s report for all three major players in the console market. Nintendo released theirs this morning and as we expected, the Switch is doing well. Really well. Here are the highlights:

  • The Switch has now sold a little over 32 million units. It is selling faster than both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
  • There have been 163 million pieces of Switch software sold which equates to an attach rate of over 5 games per console.
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now the best selling Switch title, surpassing Mario Odyssey, at over 15 million units.
  • Super Smash Brothers Ultimate has already sold over 12 million copies.

Our Take

We’ve talked about it extensively on our Bitcasts. No matter what you think of the Switch, love it or hate it, it is an undeniable success. Nintendo continues to see strong sales for both hardware and software, strong third party support, and increased engagement. It’s a good time to be a Nintendo fan!
