This morning Rockstar provided some news on the latest update to the Red Dead Online beta. The most interesting addition is a new mode titled Gun Rush which, when you read the details, equates to a battle royale game type.
Gun Rush is where you’ll put your survival instincts to the test, gathering weapons and ammunition while the play area shrinks in this new mode for up to 32 players.
Gun Rush is available to play solo or in teams. Additionally, more updates are coming soon including:
- Race and Showdown modes.
- New clothing and emotes.
- Daily challenges.
- Law and Bounty upgrades.
- Parley changes.
- Proximity-Based player blips.

Our Take
Red Dead Online has a ton of potential but it still has a long way to go in its current state in our opinion. But given the success and breadth of GTA Online, we have every reason to believe Rockstar will be supporting the title and platform for years to come.
