Activision has confirmed what was rumored earlier this week. Black Ops 4 is indeed 2018’s Call of Duty title from Treyarch and it will release on October 12th. The full reveal will occur on May 17th with the obvious E3 coverage to follow in June.
And for those paying attention, yes that means that even Call of Duty is scared of Red Dead Redemption 2 as this is the first Call of Duty this generation that isn’t launching in early November.
Our Take
This was all but known, however we do find it rather funny that Activision is even moving the most popular gaming franchise in the world out of the way of Red Dead Redemption 2. Black Ops 3 was ok so we’re hoping Treyarch has some new things planned for Black Ops 4 and it doesn’t just end up as more of the same from the series. Time will tell but we know one thing ; the logo is quite silly.
