The popular ARPG Grim Dawn has been confirmed by developers Crate Entertainment to be coming to the Xbox One. In the process of announcing the second expansion for the title, Forgotten Gods which will arrive in late 2018 for PC, the following statement was made.
It’s no secret by now that we are working on an Xbox One port of the game, which is coming posthaste…
At this time, we’re not sure in what form the game will arrive on the Xbox One. Path of Exile from Grinding Gear Games landed on the Xbox last year but is a free to play title. So we’re not sure if Grim Dawn will launch as a standard game in physical and digital form or in something like Game Preview. For now, if you’d like to learn more about the title or the Forgotten Gods expansion, you can find the official site and forums here: Grim Dawn Main Site
Our Take
This is excellent news for ARPG fans on the Xbox One. While Diablo 3 has obviously seen overwhelming success, smaller titles such as Path of Exile have found a home on the Xbox platform as well and the title is even supported in 4K/60fps for the Xbox One X. We certainly hope that Crate Entertainment has the same plans for Grim Dawn.
Meanwhile, PC players have even more Grim Dawn to look forward to later this year and with the ARPG having built a dedicated playerbase on the platform, these announcements seem to be good news all around.
