Microsoft made a huge announcement today regarding their Game Pass service. Going forward, all Microsoft first party titles will launch day and date in the Game Pass service. So when Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3 launch throughout the year, Game Pass subscribers will have instant access to them on their release date.
This will continue into the future as well so it includes blockbuster titles like Halo, Forza, and Gears of War as well.

Our Take
This is an incredibly pro-consumer move. We were already big fans of Xbox Game Pass but this certainly takes it over the top. When you account for the price of merely two new games like Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2, the service essentially pays for itself. Simply put, if you plan to purchase the Xbox/Windows 10 first party titles in 2018 or going forward, it only makes sense to be a Game Pass member. Well played Microsoft.
