NeoGAF, popular gaming forum that has been ripe with controversies over the past several months, has shut down. The owner of the site, Tyler Malka, is facing sexual assault allegations and apparently, has decided to shut down the site and move on. An official statement hasn’t been released yet but we’ll update this post when one is.
Our Take
This is a strange story. Those close to NeoGAF know that the site was a place for developers and industry insiders to share information you couldn’t get elsewhere. However, it was also managed very poorly and thus a breeding ground for fanboyism, group think, and some of the worst behavior you find on the internet. While we don’t have a dog in the fight, we’ll wait to see what becomes of the site in the future.
