XboxHeader

After being in testing for a few months, the Xbox team rolled out highly anticipated new features today.  Included in the new update(s) are:

  • The ability to upload a custom gamerpic.  For reference, the ideal size is 1080 x 1080. And you can also update the pic via the Xbox app.
  • Co-Streaming via Mixer. With the updated Mixer integration, you and up to 3 friends can all instantly stream your gameplay into a single broadcast.
  • Controller to Xbox profile assignment and auto-login.
  • User generated tournaments using Live Arena.
  • IOS and Android Xbox app updates.

Our Take

We’ve been using the co-streaming and custom gamerpics for a few months now as part of the Insider program and we really enjoy it. The ability to customize your gamerpic speaks for itself but the co-streaming feature of Mixer is excellent. The ability to near-instantly setup a broadcast for you and your friends is a terrific addition to the UI.
