E3 : Nintendo Conference Overview

Nintendo kept their event short and sweet, but deliver they did. There has been a lot of speculation that all we would see in 2017 is Arms and Splatoon 2. They proved everyone wrong with a couple of surprises and great releases coming in 2017. Thankfully the drought will be a short one for great software coming from the house that Mario built.

Super Mario Odyssey

Nintendo’s AAA game for the Fall looks fantastic. Prior to today we had only seen a trailer with what gameplay could look like, but our imaginations have ran wild in what it would look like. We couldn’t be more excited to get our hands on this one.

Release Date: October 27, 2017

Yoshi

Yoshi’s Wooly World was one a lot of fun and this game appears to have the yarn aspect removed. The gameplay looked very similar but with a different coat of paint.

Release Date: 2018

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

If you loved the Wii U Xenoblade Chronicles this game will excite you. One thing we did notice was the horrible English dub that was taking place during trailer. Aside from that this game looks like a great entry to continue the series.

Release Date: Winter 2017

Rocket League

If you’ve played the previous Rocket League games this one won’t really surprise you too much from a gameplay standpoint. The Nintendo version is coming with exclusive content in the form of cars, skins and other items. One interesting item is cross play between other systems with the exception of PlayStation.

Release Date: Holiday 2017

Kirby

A series that has been beloved on console and handheld makes its way to Switch. The trailer starts in a fun manner and continues the entire way.

Release Date: 2018

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild- Expansion Pass

While we knew a lot about what was coming from both of the DLC packs it was nice to see them play in the game. New hero characters from the main story were announced in Amiibo form. It was also announced that there will be Link skins in the port of Skyrim on the Switch.

Release Date:  June 30th (Pack 1).  Holiday 2017 (Pack 2)

Metroid Prime 4

In what was a big hope for us going into E3, we were given a major tease to Metroid Prime 4.  Only a 4 slowly appeared with “now in development” flashing. We can expect this game to be a couple of years out.

Release Date:  TBD

Metroid: Samus Returns

Metroid fans were given two surprises with a remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus from the Gameboy. This announcement has a lot of fans beyond excited.

Release Date: September 15th

Sonic Forces

Mario’s biggest rival in the 90’s returns with what we hope is a return to form. Sonic has had a lot of unfortunate releases as of late and we are hoping to get a great game from this release. This title is exclusive to the Switch

Release Date: Holiday 2017

Fire Emblem Warriors

Fire Emblem has had a large following primarily on Nintendo handheld devices. With this coming to the hybrid console in the Switch, it’ll be able to capture the home console player and the player on the go simultaenously. We like what we see so far and look forward to gameplay trailer to get a feel for how the game will flow. While we’d prefer a true RPG vs a Dynasty Warrior type of game, this does look like fun.

Release Date: Fall 2017
