Marketing material for the new Call of Duty has provided some insight into what we can expect from this year’s installment from Sledgehammer Games. Some of the info includes:
- The multiplayer is described as “Boots on ground” which confirms a return to COD’s past.
- A campaign that features D-Day and battles across Europe.
- “New ways” to interact with your friends and the COD community in multiplayer.
- A new, stand-alone co-operative mode.
Our Take
Given the World War 2 setting, some of this is to be expected. The confirmation of boots on the ground multiplayer is a welcome one but most intriguing is the new co-op mode. A stand alone experience for co-op based in World War 2 could be very interesting. However, does this mean that COD is skipping Zombies support this year? We should know in just a few days.
