Yet another cheered announcement at the Summer Game Fest showcase, Studio MDHR announced not only a follow-up to their revered title Cuphead, but an additional NES-inspired Cuphead game titled Mighty Cuphead Adventure.
With Mighty Cuphead Adventure, we aren’t just taking inspiration from the classics of the 1980s…we’re building the game with the technology of the era. That’s right: the project is programmed in classic Assembly Language and designed with the exacting specifications of the Sega Master System home gaming console in mind. This means that while the game will absolutely be compatible with modern consoles and personal computers, players who want a true blast from the past will be able to experience it on a physical cartridge for the Sega Master System home gaming console. This is not just a retro-style game: it’s a game built from the ground up with all the unique limitations of a 1980s video game studio.
