Battlefield 6 : Everything You Need to Know

The teams at Battlefield Studios have officially pulled the curtain back (or more appropriately, blown the doors off) on Battlefield 6. And to say it’s been impressive would be an understatement. We’ve summarized everything you need to know from the multiplayer reveal, press event, and launch details. Let’s dive in.

Modes

Multiplayer: Seize glory in iconic, large-scale modes like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush. Jump into fast-paced intense experiences with King of the Hill, Domination, and Payload. Fight in iconic locations all over the world like Cairo, Brooklyn, Gibraltar and more.

Campaign: Campaign is back. Drive tanks across the Sahara. Storm the beaches of Gibraltar. Defend New York from invasion. Join an elite squad of Marine Raiders fighting relentlessly to save a world on the edge of collapse.

Portal: Take unprecedented control of your environment by moving, scaling, and duplicating objects. Create your own gamemode and custom UI. Design unique multiplayer experiences using NPC scripting. Your creation can rise the ranks to become an official mode.

Battle Royale: More to come here. While they haven’t detailed it just yet, Battlefield 6 will reportedly be launching with a free-to-play battle royale mode as well.

Maps

At launch there will be 9 large-scale maps each with its own hand-crafted zones specific to different game modes.

Siege of Cairo: Prepare for intense urban combat on the streets of central Cairo. In Siege of Cairo, combat is a game of cat and mouse between infantry and tanks. Fight in alleys, duck in and out of buildings, and always watch your six.

Iberian Offensive: Sprint through Gibraltar’s winding streets, stalk its alleyways, dodge heavily-armored tanks, and tear through buildings–Iberian Offensive has many ways to secure a tactical advantage.

Liberation Peak: Welcome to Tajikistan’s glorious mountainside. This vast rocky terrain provides cover for jets and helicopters during aerial dogfights, or a height advantage for infantry and tanks.

Empire State: Empire State is an infantry-only map featuring explosive engagements spanning alleys, rooftops, and the iconic streets of Brooklyn, New York.

Operation Firestorm: The classic Battlefield 3 map returns. Fight for control of a burning oil field with infantry, tanks, helicopters, and jets.

Saints Quarter: A close-quarters combat map designed for fast-paced infantry-only fights, set around a fountain flanked by destructible buildings in Gibraltar’s Old Town.

New Sobek City: Brave the heat as infantry, advance the frontline in a tank, or take to the skies in an attack helicopter. Set in a construction yard on the outskirts of Cairo’s suburbs, New Sobek City wages all-out war across construction sites and massive sand dunes.

Mirak Valley: A prime destination for all-out warfare, Mirak Valley is the largest map at launch–a massive war-torn landscape filled with every type of vehicle.

Manhattan Bridge: Engage in close-quarters gunplay on the streets, take to the skies in an attack helicopter, or change the flow of combat with large scale destruction.

Classes

The classic four classes return as you remember them. Take the role of Assault, Engineer, Support, or Recon, each with its own weaponry, gadgets, and abilities.

Assault: The Assault class are frontline killers, who punch through defenses to open the way for the rest of the team. Enhanced mobility, combined with the option to throw on an extra primary weapon, makes you a formidable force that can push deep behind enemy lines.

Engineer: Engineers are the deterrent for tanks, helicopters, and jets. Armed with a satchel filled with rockets and mines, this class is all about being a menace to enemy vehicles. They’re also the only class capable of repairing friendly vehicles, equipment, and weapon placements.

Support: The Support class is there to pull you out of the fire, throw down supply crates, and heal you in the fight. Support can lay down deployable cover, intercept enemy grenades and missiles, and are the masters of the LMG.

Recon: The sniper stalking the edge of the battlefield for the perfect headshot. The tactician pinpointing enemy positions with drones, planting C4 to cripple tanks and level buildings, or controlling a laser designator to guide your allies’ missiles to their target.
