In what is most likely the most nonchalant way to announce a console’s successor, Nintendo President, Shuntaro Furukawa, casually announced the Switch’s successor via a Tweet this morning. Alongside announcing that the next Nintendo Direct would occur in June and be focused on the fall lineup of games for the Switch, he announced that they would unveil the new console prior to the end of the fiscal year (March 2025).
The announcement has been long-rumored with multiple, high-level sources claiming it would be announced back in 2021. While we obviously don’t have any information to share at this time, we will be discussing our expectations and the latest rumors of the Switch 2 hardware on the next Bitcast. Hope you can tune in!
