With 343 Industries undergoing its transformation and some former Xbox employees leaving Microsoft entirely, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Joseph Staten is among them.
Staten has a long history with Xbox and in particular Halo where he served as a Director of Cinematics at Bungie while later helping expand the Halo IP into other areas including books. In 2007 Halo: Contact Harvest, written by Staten, reached #3 on The New York Times bestseller list.
Staten rejoined Microsoft Studios in 2014 and eventually 343 Industries in 2020 to help ship Halo Infinite.
Now, however, Staten is venturing out to Netflix where he will serve as a Creative Director on a new, AAA multi-platform game.
