PlayStation State of Play : Full Summary and Recap

The latest State of Play has concluded and PlayStation had some surprises in store and of course more God of War Ragnarok. Let’s dive in.


The show kicked off with Tekken 8. It only showed the PS5 logo with “Stay Tuned” at the end of the teaser.

PlayStation then showed off a few PS VR2 titles including Star Wars Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge and Demeo.

Next up was the surprise reveal that Yakuza spin-off Like a Dragon: Ishin is coming West. It has been remade from the ground-up according to the trailer and launches in February. For awareness, it is not exclusive to PlayStation and will launch on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles as well.

An updated trailer for Hogwarts Legacy was then shown with a focus on an exclusive quest for PlayStation players. Hogwarts Legacy will release on February 10th.

First-person survival, driving game Pacific Drive then debuted.

PlayStation then talked about the digital collectibles that you’ll be able to earn with PlayStation Stars.

Synduality is a new IP from Bandai-Namco coming in 2023. It is described as Embark on a brand new dystopian journey with a Magus, your AI partner, and explore the post-apocalyptic world of Amasia. Armed with your mech, compete for resources, avoid the rain, and reclaim the ground humanity has lost, in a future where humans and AI must find a way to work together.

Stellar Blade is the final name for “Project Eve.”  It is a PS5 console exclusive and coming in 2023.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is coming to the PS4 and PS5 in early 2023.

Rise of the Ronin is a new title from the legendary Team Ninja. Labeled as a console exclusive and coming in 2024, it is described as You are a Ronin, a warrior free from all masters and bonds and as your destiny intertwines with story characters, take part in an immersive combat focused action experience.

God of War Ragnarok then stole the show. A limited-edition DualSense controller is coming later this year and we were then treated to a new gameplay trailer. Enjoy!
