While CDPR had previously confirmed they would return to the Witcher franchise, this morning they officially let the wolf out of the bag (comon we had to).
Via a new post on their official site, CDPR has confirmed a new Witcher title that will kick-off a new saga, is in development. The title will utilize Unreal Engine 5, a departure from REDengine. According to the announcement, this is due to a multi-year collaboration with Epic Games that will see CDPR helping with its on-going development as well.
Our Take
The Witcher 3 continues to be one of the greatest games of all-time and has set the bar for years in how open-worlds are approached. We’re extremely excited to see what CDPR does next with the franchise and what stories it will tell/characters it will introduce. More to come!
