It’s been a runaway success since launch and now, less than five years since launching, the Switch has dethroned the Wii as Nintendo’s best selling console of all-time.
The news comes thanks to Nintendo’s latest financial report which showed the current Switch sales at 103.54 million units, thus surpassing the Wii’s lifetime sales of 101.63 million units.
The big question now is, can the Switch eventually catch the PlayStation 2’s all-time console record of 155 million units. Previously it has been thought to be impossible, but with Nintendo saying the Switch “isn’t even halfway through its life cycle yet”, time will tell.
