Three Senior Developers, Including Diablo 4 Game Director, No Longer with Blizzard

As allegations of sexual harassment mount, and lawsuits shape up towards Activision-Blizzard, it seems the company is taking its first steps in removing employees involved in incidents. While not explicitly stated by Blizzard, it was reportedly confirmed by Kotaku that Diablo 4 game director Luis Barriga, lead designer Jesse McCree, and World of Warcraft designer Jonathan LeCraft were let go from Blizzard on Wednesday.

UPDATE: The departures have since been confirmed by Blizzard.

McCree and LeCraft were part of those pictured in the now well-circulated “Cosby Suite Picture” that surfaced a couple of weeks ago. Meanwhile Barriga, who had been with Blizzard since 2006, had recently taken on the role of Diablo 4 Game Director.

Our Take

The fallout from these allegations will no doubt continue. According to all of our sources and information that’s been widely shared, there should be many more departures to come for Activision-Blizzard to begin making strides in the positive direction.
