One of the biggest stories over the past couple of weeks has been Microsoft’s interest in acquiring Discord. Given the application’s impact for gamers far and wide, many assumptions were made about what it could mean in the years to come. However, it seems those thoughts were premature.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Discord has ended potential acquisition talks with Microsoft and will remain independent. Instead, they will continue to pursue an initial public offering in the future.
Though according to the article, future discussions on mergers and/or acquisitions are still on the table.
