Well, after all the speculation about the Kojima Productions mascot “Ludens” sitting behind Phil Spencer in his video a couple of months ago, it seems there may have been something to it after all.
According to multiple sources including GamesBeat, Phil Spencer and the Xbox Team have been working to close a deal with Hideo Kojima’s, Kojima Productions, to publish their next title. Whether or not the deal is official yet is undetermined. However, Kojima is said to be a key factor in Xbox’s focus to leverage more Japanese talent in the coming years.
While Death Stranding was generally well received, it reportedly didn’t meet sales expectations initially. However, Kojima is a brand-name in the industry and publishing his next title, particularly if exclusive, would be a major boon for Xbox, particularly in Eastern regions.
