Apple TV Launching on Xbox on November 10th

Xbox announced another new addition to the ecosystem this morning for the Xbox Series console launch. Apple TV will launch on November 10th for all Xbox consoles including the Xbox One, Series S, and Series X.

Apple TV supports integration with other premium apps and you can try the service for 7 days for free when it launches. A standard subscription is $4.99 a month after that point.

There’s so much more available on the Apple TV app. You can also subscribe to channels like Showtime, CBS All Access and AMC+. You can browse to buy or rent more than 100,000 movies and shows, with access to your library of previous movie and TV show purchases from Apple. You can watch online, ad-free and on demand through the app. In addition, Family Sharing lets six family members share subscriptions to Apple TV channels using their personal Apple ID and password.

If you’re ready to dive in, you can subscribe to Apple TV+ on the Apple TV app directly from your Xbox for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial starting November 10.See here for more details on everything Apple TV has to offer.

Xbox also confirmed that all of the apps that are available on the Xbox One today will carry forward to the Series S and X as expected. And thanks to the new “Entertainment” block on the new UI, you can add all of your favorites directly to your home screen should you so choose.

Our Take

This is a nice addition for those who use their Xbox console as a media center. Of course speculation will likely run wild now about whether Apple and Xbox/MS are working through their battle to allow xCloud on IOS, but for now this seems rather straightforward as just another app addition to the Xbox platform.
