While little is known about the project outside of the development team, Creative Assembly had previously teased District 9 and Elysium Director Neil Blomkamp visiting the studio. Blomkamp responded by saying:

Our Take
Alien Isolation is often quoted as one of the most underappreciated titles of the generation and given the talent at Creative Assembly, we’re very excited to see what they are working particularly if it’s another rich sci-fi universe. We will certainly keep you updated when we learn more.
