Rocket League Goes Free to Play Next Week

Since its debut, Rocket League has enjoyed an astronomical ascent into a realm few games reach. As of August, the title has enjoyed more than 40 million total players and just a short while ago, smashed its concurrent player peak across platforms at over 500,000.

Looking to take the next step to grow the community, Rocket League is going free to play on all platforms. It will go free next Wednesday, September 23rd at 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm BST. As part of going free, a new “Season 1” will kick off which Psyonix will reveal more details on next week. Our Take

Rocket League is a tremendous game; simple to learn but difficult to master. It has seen incredible success and we’re sure that will only continue with going free to play. We love that Psyonix is adding cross-progression across platforms and we can’t wait to see what else they have planned in the new seasons. Let’s go!
