Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to Utilize Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X

There has been a lot of discussion on how games will transfer to next-generation and whether gamers will be forced to buy multiple copies of titles for Xbox One/PS4 and Xbox Series X/PS5. Thankfully, Xbox messaging has been clear in this regard with the Smart Delivery system. In essence, you simply buy a copy of a game for Xbox and the best version of that game will then be applied depending on the hardware you are using (Xbox One, Xbox One X, or Xbox Series X).

CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that they will be using the Smart Delivery system to ensure fans get the Series X upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 for free and it seems Ubisoft is following suit with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This is described in the pre-order description details:

Our Take

This is excellent news and we hope that eventually, all third parties will follow suit and allow gamers on consoles to simply purchase a game once and play the best version for their specific hardware. It’s a common sense approach and similar to how PC has functioned for years.
