PAX East : More Companies Cancel Attendance for Fear of Coronavirus

Sadly, more companies have now dropped their planned attendance to PAX East due to safety concerns for their employees. With the Coronarvirus continuing to spread in regions, companies are being very cautious with global travel.

Sony, Square-Enix, and Capcom had already cancelled their attendance. As of yesterday, both CD Projekt Red and PUBG Corp. have also cancelled their plans.

CDPR’s North American Head of Communications, Stephanie Bayer, made the following statement:

I just found out my team is cancelling our PAX East trip so I will NOT be at PAX East as previously planned

Our Take

Given the excitement for PAX East and how fan-friendly the show is, it’s a shame that the show will now be a shell of what was planned. It’s disappointing that alternative plans could not be made locally by these developers, but obviously safety for their employees comes first.
