A few days we reported on Ubisoft’s new editorial team and how the company was looking to make changes to the way they develop their IPs. Now, according to Video Games Chronicle again, a former Splinter Cell Creative Director is returning to Ubisoft to be part of the team.
Maxime Beland had worked at Ubisoft for over 20 years and acted as the Creative Director on Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist while also co-founding Ubisoft Toronto. But in 2019 he left to join Epic Games. Now, after less than a year away, he is re-joining Ubisoft as Vice President and will be an integral part of the revamped editorial team.
Our Take
We hope this is good news. While we of course want Splinter Cell to return and have talked about that frequently here at SG, we’ve also been fooled by rumors and speculation for far too long. We’ll continue to hold out hope…
