Tennis games were a more popular venture at one point in the industry but sadly, with development costs rising and a small audience, they are few and far between nowadays.
Thankfully Big Ant Studios and publisher Bigben Interactive are picking up the mantle to bring us Australian Open Tennis 2. The title will feature a full career mode in which the player can experience a new narrative-based campaign with a integrated reputation system. If career mode isn’t your cup of tea, you can customize your own player or fill the shoes of “dozens of the world’s biggest tennis stars” while taking the court in Melbourne Park.
AO Tennis 2 is available today for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC via Steam.
Our Take
Tennis games are difficult to develop but when done well, can contain incredibly addictive gameplay. We haven’t gotten our hands on AO Tennis 2 yet but we’ll report back in the near future when our copy arrives!
