There have been a few Dual Shock patents flying around for the PlayStation 5 but another set has turned up that shows a potential new feature not previously shown. The latest patent, originally found by Let’s Go Digital, shows two rear buttons similar to the paddle/buttons we’ve seen on third party controllers this generation.
While these are by no means definitive or what you should expect for the PS5’s final controller, they give a good sense of the direction Sony is heading for the new Dual Shock.

Our Take
Many of the controllers we’ve used for the PS4, including the Nacon Unlimited which we recommend, have integrated paddles or buttons so it would be nice to see it as a standard feature on the new Dual Shock.
