EA Investor’s Call Confirms New Need for Speed and Plants vs. Zombies Titles in 2019

Two of the most well known IPs for Electronic Arts will apparently be returning, and it could be sooner than anyone imagined.

During the EA Investor’s call earlier today, we learned a few insights such as Anthem not meeting EA’s financial goals and Firestorm being the largest “live service” launch for Battlefield ever. Most notably however, is the apparent return of two classic IPs in Need for Speed and Plants vs. Zombies.

As shown in the report, both titles are expected in the 3rd quarter of the fiscal year alongside Jedi Fallen Order. You can find the full financial report here : EA Investor’s Report

Our Take

This is really interesting news and we’re surprised to hear that EA would bunch three of its major IPs together in a single quarter, particularly around the holidays. But then again, we’ve seen this before and it led to reduced sales and over-saturation. What we’re most curious about here though, is if it will be a full Garden Warfare 3 or some other title in the PvZ universe as during the investor’s call it was said to be a “shooter”. We expect we’ll find out soon at EA Play!
