Industry veteran Jade Raymond, who has held notable roles across the industry with companies such as Electronic Arts and Ubisoft, announced that she has been hired as a Vice President at Google.
While we know that Google is pushing into the gaming industry, we don’t know the specifics of what this role means or Raymond’s responsibilities. No matter what though, this is further evidence that Google is getting serious about playing in the industry.
I’m excited to finally be able to share that I have joined Google as VP!

Our Take
This is notable as by all accounts, Google has been wanting to get into the gaming industry for some time. With their recent Project Stream, and the merging on gaming with cloud/server technology, Google is in a strong position to make their presence known in the future.
