EA Play Returns in 2019, but Electronic Arts Will Not Hold a Full Conference

It seems the evolution of E3 continues. Electronic Arts has done their own thing the past few years with EA Play and a separate, stand-alone conference.

For 2019, they are keeping EA Play which will begin on Friday, June 7th. Similar to last year, this makes EA Play the premiere event prior to E3 officially beginning. EA also stated that they will run multiple live streams over the course of the weekend and that EA Play Fanfest will still be full of content for fans both local and remote.

For those wondering, tickets will begin to go on sale next month.

Our Take

EA Play is a fun event and we’ll be covering it again this year. While the lack of a conference seems strange, given the games EA is currently producing for release, and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order being shown ahead of E3, it makes sense that they wouldn’t hold a full conference. Regardless, we’re still excited for the event!
