The console edition of the strategy game Stellaris will launch on the PS4 and Xbox One on February 26th. The core game will retail for $39.99, while the Deluxe Edition will be $59.99 and will include both the Utopia and Leviathans Story Pack expansions.
Stellaris’s controls and UI have been re-built from the ground up by the same team that helped to port Cities : Skylines and will hopefully offer console players a similar experience without mouse and keyboard (which the title will not support).
Our Take
It’s great to see titles like Stellaris make their way to console but we have to admit we’re worried about the potential audience. With strategy games often finding their playerbase on PC along with a launch date that puts it right in the middle of some of the biggest games of the year, we’re wondering if it will find its niche.
