Since its debut during E3 in 2017, The Last Night has been frequently discussed due its standout art style. However, we haven’t heard much out of Odd Tales over the course of 2018.
Tim Soret, the head of Odd Tales, has now provided some context on the development of the title via a Twitter thread. In short, it seems that development was expanding until some serious legal and funding issues arose. What this means for the title’s future, we’re unsure of at this time.
Then…
– We encountered massive business, legal & funding issues we can't talk about.
– We had to cancel a new trailer of The Last Night at The Game Awards 😰
– We're currently raising funds, so get in touch: [email protected]— Tim Soret (@timsoret) December 31, 2018
Our Take
This is troubling to hear but sadly, it’s not that unusual for smaller studios in today’s market. The Last Night is an intriguing title and we wish Tim and his studio the best of luck in resolving the issues so development can continue/finish.
